The original boonie hat, designed as an add-on item to run with the Flecktarn combat uniform. Made from VAT dyed, IRR original flecktarn fabric of the same weight and weave as the trousers and parkas, the original boonie hat is crushable and will come back to original form, unlike the import versions. The heavier weight fabric helps to maintain shape and also provides some additional protection from wind and fog. The boonie hat is assembled in Germany utilising top quality brim stiffeners and tapes. Shaped to be narrower at the front than at the rear, thus not adding unnecessary fabric and not conforming to military headgear wearing regulations. Hat features two ventilation holes left and right, two inch brim, high density tape around sweatband for addition of camouflage material, chinstrap with adjustable leather toggle.
