The current issue British Forces lightweight waterproof jacket is constructed from Goretex three layer laminated material incorporating an outer water repellent layer, middle barrier layer and inner breathable layer. The jacket is designed to be highly waterproof against medium to heavy showers without the bulkiness. Cuffs close with velcro hook and loop to help seal off the arms against water. The jacket closes with a central two-way zip. Additionally zips are located under the arms for ventilation. Central zip is covered with a storm flap that is secured in place with hook and loop and has a rank tab on the front. Each arm has an upper arm pocket. Bottom of hem has elasticated shock cord and toggle adjustment to bring this area close to the body and prevent wind from driving up from below. Collar is faced on the inside with fleece to prevent chafing. All seams are taped. Used ex-military material, water repellancy level cannot be guaranteed due to prior use and care. Sizes available are Medium (170/90), Large (180/100).
