A single inert cartridge in 7.5x54 French MAS 36 calibre. The MAS 36 bolt action was adopted in 1936 by the French Army. Mass production of the rifle did not start until 1937, so the French Army was not fully equipped with the new rifle until after World War 2. Wartime rifles were reserved for the front line forces, but captured supplies ended up in German hands with the designation Gewehr242(f) for use in occupied France and reservists. After WW2, the MAS 36 rifle was used extensively in French action in Algeria, the Suez Crisis (1956) and Indochina (Vietnam). The rifle ceased production in 1952 and was superseded by the semi-automatic MAS 49. It continued to be used by indigenous colonial forces up into the early 1960s. Please note that all rounds have no propellant or live primers. This is a deactivated 7.5x54 bullet. To restore a shiny finish, rub the cartridge with toothpaste or a commercial cleaner. Please note that price is for ONE round only. NB: All inert ammunition travelling OUTSIDE mainland UK must be shipped by international courier (eg UPS). Extras available for this dummy round: An new and unindented brass cup to fit into the primer pocket to give the appearance of a new, unfired round: Large Dummy Primer Removal of the deactivated, inert primer from the round, leaving a hole or holes in the base that can be inspected to prove the round is inert and free from explosives: Depriming of Round
