The Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) family of cartridges was introduced by 2002, which took popular hunting cartridges in.300, 7mm and .270 calibres and redesigned them to work in shorter actions than their non-shortened counterparts. Unlike the WSM cartridges in .300 and 7mm calibres, the 270 WSM was designed to provide a performance boost over the existing 270 Winchester cartridge, with the Magnum power giving about 250 fps more velocity over the 270 Winchester cartridge. The 270 WSM is considered so highly efficient that it can rival a .300 Magnum powered round whilst giving less recoil. It remains a highly popular round for medium game at long range. The 270 WSM has a unique look with a relatively thin and dense Soft Point head fitted to a squat, shouldered case. Price is for ONE round only. Dulled rounds can be repolished with metal polish or toothpaste. Rounds may only travel with courier as they are prohibited from standard post.
