Made for the Winchester 1894 lever action rifle using the new smokeless powder instead of the more common black powder, the .30-30 Winchester is a round which features a rim, shoulder and a snub nosed round with a soft lead tiip and hollow front. It is usually fitted into tube magazines which are slung under the rifle barrel, and care is taken in the bullet design to ensure that the front is not raised where it touches the primer of the round in front so as to prevent accidental discharge. The 30-30 was also known as 30 WCF initially, although it is now more commonly known as 30-30, particularly as Marlin began manufacturing lever action rifles using the round and dropped the 'Winchester' name so as not to promote a rival. The .30-30 is still considered an entry level medium and large game hunting round, as the effective range is approximately 200 yards, and it is considered too low powered in many countries for humane hunting of large game. More recently, the .30-30 cartridge has been used as a large handgun round in the Thompson Centre Arms Contender pistol. Price is for ONE round only. Rounds may only ship using courier. Extras available for this dummy round: An new and unindented brass cup to fit into the primer pocket to give the appearance of a new, unfired round: Large Dummy Primer Removal of the deactivated, inert primer from the round, leaving a hole or holes in the base that can be inspected to prove the round is inert and free from explosives: Depriming of Round
