The Bulle NYCO ACU uniform boonie hat is directly patterned on the issue ACU boonie hat. The hat is made of tougher NYCO ripstop material which is 50%cotton, 50% polyester. This is a machine-washable blend with quick-drying properties despite being medium to light-weight. This material is the same type as used in the original issue ACU uniforms and is more colourfast, shrinkproof and wrinkle-resistant than the 100% cotton ACUs. The ACU boonie hat is shaped to be naturally higher in the back than in the front, to facilitate wearing with the brim horizontal to the ground as with all military caps and hats. Two ventilation rivets are provided left and right, and the outside of the sweatband is provided with webbing sewn down at regular intervals for attachment of camouflage material. The hat is provided with a chinstrap in matching colour which is fitted with a plastic sprung toggle, which remains useful despite multiple washings. Brim is medium to wide in depth, and is matches the original brim depth extremely well. The uniform IR signature is low when tested under low light, IR enhanced conditions. The Bulle NYCO ACU boonie hat is an excellent colour and pattern match for the original issue ACU uniform, and is the best value and most authentic brand of ACU boonie hat in this price range.
